FPL Gameweek 9 Preview

What a Tuesday matchday it was for Champions League this week. Is Firmino back to his scoring ways? Salah looked unstoppable, Coutinho was in form, and Kane could’ve had a couple. KDB’s passing is out of this world and Jesus is reaping the tap-ins from it.

Here are the top teams’ key matches: Spurs play Liverpool, City play Burnley, United’s away to Huddersfield, Everton host Arsenal, and Chelsea welcomes Watford. But who do you transfer in this week to take advantage?

My money is on City breaking down a formidable Burnley side. The goals are hailing down on the blue side of Manchester. Sterling, Jesus, D. Silva, Sané, KDB, and Agüero are all safe bets to get on the score sheet.

Lukaku will also probably come away with a goal from Huddersfield, but the goals haven’t been flowing as much for United.

Anything can happen with Spurs vs Liverpool. I predict a tight game with Spurs just getting the better of the Reds—the score being 1–0 or 2–1. It could easily be vice versa, however. And anything can happen at Wembley… It’s tough to be certain about any specific player doing well in this fixture. Kane may have a field day with a weak Liverpool defence.

As for captains? Lukaku, Kane, or Jesus/another City player? United focused entirely on parking the bus with a disappointing showing (from a fan’s perspective) against Liverpool last week—it’s evident they’re missing Pogba badly. Kane isn’t a sure bet these days at Wembley. Jesus or another City player should don the armband this week. Goals galore are raining down. But who? Jesus, Sterling, and maybe Agüero seem to be your best bet.

If only I could reshuffle funds without taking a hefty hit to transfer in Jesus or Agüero… I’m leaning toward ousting Lukaku but we’ll see how he does today. And so the tough decisions begin!

May your arrows be green this gameweek!
